How to create a mailing list

Bulk email campaigns and cold sequences are both fed from the same place: your lists. Once a list is ready, you can send it a one-shot campaign or add it to a multi-step sequence. This guide walks you through creating a list and filling it from three different sources.

Before you start

  • A Professional plan or higher — the Starter plan includes the quote tool and CRM; lists, bulk email and sequences unlock from Professional.
  • Being signed in to the panel.
  • If you plan to import from Excel/CSV, a column with email addresses in your file.
  1. 1

    Open the Lists page

In the panel, go to the "Email" section in the top menu and pick "Lists" from the side menu. You can reach the same page from the "Automation" section too — the list pool is shared.

  2. 2

Create your list with "+ New list"

Click "+ New list" at the top right, type a memorable name into "List name" (e.g. "Istanbul furniture makers") and click "Add". The list is created instantly; click its name to start filling it.

  3. 3

Source 1: "Add from our database"

Open the "Add from our database" panel on the list page. Type a "Company / keyword", or pick a sector from "Sector (all)", optionally fill "Province" and "District", then hit "Search". Tick the companies you want and click "Add … selected", or take everything with "Add ~… matching" — companies without an email are skipped automatically.

💡 At most 2,000 companies are added per run; for bigger results narrow the filter and add to the same list in a few passes.

  4. 4

    Source 2: "Upload Excel/CSV"

In the "Add contacts" box, click "Upload Excel/CSV" and pick your file. The emails and names found in the file are dropped into the box as "Name <mail@company.com>" lines; review them and click "Add".

💡 Your file never leaves the browser — the email column is detected automatically wherever it sits.

  5. 5

Source 3: "Add from my contacts"

If you have CRM contacts with an email, an "Add from my contacts" panel appears on the list page. Tick the ones you want (or "select all") and click "Add … selected". Contacts already in the list are grayed out and carry an "in list" tag.

  6. 6

    Paste emails by hand

If you already have addresses, paste them into the "Add contacts" box, one email per line; the "Name <mail@company.com>" format works too. Click "Add" — addresses that match our database get their company details filled in automatically.

💡 Pasting the same address twice is no problem — each email is kept only once per list.

  7. 7

    Review your list

In the "Contacts" table you may see "Verified", "Risky" or "Invalid" badges next to emails — they reflect real sending history. Addresses tagged "unsubscribed" are never sent to by campaigns or sequences; no need to remove them by hand.

  8. 8

Use the list in a campaign or a sequence

If you came in via the Email section, the top right shows "Send a campaign to this list"; via Automation, you pick a sequence and click "Add to sequence". The same list works in both — the pool is shared, only the sending style differs.

  9. 9

Delete a list you no longer need

On the Lists page, click "Delete" at the end of the row and confirm; members are removed together with the list. If an active campaign or an opt-in form is attached to it, deletion is blocked — cancel the campaign (or let it finish) or point the form to another list first.

FAQ

I clicked "Add ~… matching" but fewer contacts were added — why?

Companies without an email address are skipped automatically; the result message tells you how many had no email. Keep the "with email" checkbox ticked while searching to filter to companies that have one from the start.

I can't delete a list.

There is an active campaign (queued, sending or paused) or an opt-in form attached to it — the warning names it. Cancel the campaign or wait for it to finish; delete the form or point it to another list, then try again.

What happens if the same person comes in from several sources?

Nothing bad — an email address is stored only once per list. When you try to add it again you'll see an "already in list" note. The same address can live in different lists independently.

I want to add more than 2,000 companies.

"Add first 2000 of ~…" is a per-run limit, not a limit on list size. Narrow the filter (e.g. search district by district or sector by sector) and add to the same list in several passes — previously added companies are skipped, so no duplicates.
