Garanti Construction was founded in 1948 in Ankara as one of the subsidiaries of Garanti Bankası and soon became a pioneering company in Turkish construction sector.Garanti Construction’s evolution increasingly continued after its establishment and attracted Koç Holding’s interest in 1976,thereafter Koç Holding acquired the majority of the shares in the company.Subsequently,Garanti Construction welcomed a new partner in 1987,Hochtief,a giant German player in construction sector.Garanti Construction operated its activities under the name of Garanti Koza after the merger with Koza İnşaat in 1990.By 2000,the English construction company Balfour Beatty acquired majority shares of Garanti Koza,which is the leading construction company in Europe,following which the corporate name was changed as Garanti Balfour Beatty. 2004 was a turning point for Garanti Balfour Beatty,in which almost all of the shares of the company were acquired by its current shareholder. With the new shareholding structure,the company has continued to take firm steps in the construction sector and reiterated its success and persistence over the years with a new and more dynamic corporate structure and by making use of its experience and potential in infrastructure works,industrial plants,high rise buildings,land development issues,projects of significance,together with the contribution of its capable and highly experienced staff.
