Uber Technologies plans to eliminate approximately 3,300 positions as part of a global restructuring. The planned reduction represents about 10 per cent of its workforce. The company aims to reduce management layers, speed up decisions and redirect resources to growth priorities.

Uber will also combine its restaurant and retail delivery operations. Savings are expected to support priorities including autonomous-vehicle technology and more than $10 billion of planned investment in robotaxi partnerships over the coming years.
